Free Doorstep Charity Collections In Gloucestershire!

Gloucestershire is a county full of generous, community-minded people — and Anglo Doorstep Collections makes it genuinely simple to turn that generosity into action. We run free doorstep charity collections right across Gloucestershire, from the city streets of Gloucester to the market town charm of Cirencester, Tewkesbury, Cheltenham and Stroud. Your unwanted items are given a second life, rehomed here in the UK and overseas, reaching people who really benefit from affordable access to household essentials. A large percentage of proceeds goes directly to our wonderful partner charities, meaning every bag you put out on the doorstep makes a real difference.

Whether you’re having a thorough clear-out or simply freeing up a bit of space at home, read on to find out how your unwanted items can go on to do something genuinely worthwhile across Gloucestershire and beyond.

How Our Free Doorstep Collections Work

We’ve kept the whole process as straightforward as possible — no trips to the charity shop, no searching for a donation bank, and no need to be in when we call. Here’s exactly what to expect when you book a free doorstep charity collection in Gloucestershire:

1

Book Your Collection Online

Use our online booking form to choose a collection date that fits around your life. There are no card details to enter and no deposit required — just pick a date and you’re done.

2

Pack Up Your Donations

Gather up your unwanted clothing, kitchenware, toys, bric-a-brac and other eligible items, then pack them into any bags or boxes you have to hand. If you plan to leave them outside on collection day, pop a label on them saying “Anglo Doorstep Collections” so our driver knows exactly which bags to take. We’ll send your collection time slot through the evening before, so you’ll know roughly when to expect us.

Want to make sure your items are packed safely? Check out our Packing Guide for helpful advice.

3

Relax and Track Your Collection

On collection day, there’s nothing left for you to do but relax. A real-time tracking link lets you follow our driver’s progress so you always know when they’re on their way.

  • If you’re home, simply hand the bags over in person.
  • If you’re out, our driver will collect them straight from your doorstep.
4

We’ll Do the Rest

Your donations travel from doorsteps across Gloucestershire to our warehouse, where they’re carefully sorted and prepared before being distributed to the communities and causes that need them most. From start to finish, the whole collection is completely free — no catches, no costs.

What Charities Do We Support?

Every donation collected across Gloucestershire — whether it’s clothing gathered in Cheltenham or kitchenware cleared out in Stroud — is sold on as affordable second-hand goods. A large percentage of the proceeds goes to support our partner charities, and we’re proud to have raised over a massive £400,000 for charity since 2021. Where Do Your Doorstep Donations Go From Gloucestershire?

Doorstep donations being sorted in Gloucestershire

The moment your bags leave the doorstep — whether that’s in Tewkesbury, Gloucester or anywhere else across the county — they’re in good hands. At our warehouse, a dedicated team sorts everything carefully, reusing plastic bags for protection and recycling all cardboard packaging. Items that stay closer to home support communities right here in the UK, while others travel further afield to destinations across Africa, South America and South East Asia, reaching people who benefit most from affordable access to good-quality household essentials.

Every destination is chosen on the basis of need. Once your donations arrive, they’re sold at genuinely accessible prices, and a large percentage of the proceeds flows back to our partner charities — so the ripple effect of your clear-out in Gloucestershire stretches a very long way indeed.

The Environmental Impact of Donating in Gloucestershire

Gloucestershire is a county with a real sense of pride in its landscapes — from the Forest of Dean to the Cotswolds — so it’s worth knowing that every donation genuinely helps protect them. Across the UK, estimates suggest that around a million tonnes of reusable household goods are thrown away each year. When items like kitchenware, toys and bric-a-brac are reused rather than discarded, they save the raw materials, water and energy that would otherwise be needed to manufacture replacements — figures supported by published research from organisations such as WRAP. Closer to home, keeping usable goods out of the waste stream helps reduce the pressure on Gloucestershire’s landfill sites and plays a small but meaningful part in cutting the fly-tipping that can blight our rural lanes and town fringes. With a county population of around 920,000, the collective impact of households in Gloucester, Cheltenham, Stroud, Cirencester and beyond choosing to donate rather than discard adds up to something genuinely significant — a local circular economy that keeps good items in use for longer, rather than letting them go to waste.
