What Happens to Your Donated Bags, Hats and Accessories?
Once you have donated you things with us, we want to make sure that your items have the biggest impact possible! 95% of our donations get rehomed, so your things are very likely to be used again by someone else. As we aim to rehome all of our donations, we ask that they are all in good condition, free from damage, holes or stains.
Sorted and Sent to Their New Home…
Once we receive your donations, they are sorted categorised depending on what they are and we then pack them ready to be shipped to their next destination. From here, your donation will travel to different countries around the world, depending on where they are needed the most. People in many areas are not able to afford essentials such as bags and warm hats brand new. Your items are distributed to markets which sell your donations as second-hand goods at affordable prices. This ensures that struggling individuals and families are able to have access to these items that many of us take for granted in the UK.
Donating the Proceeds to Charity…
After your donations have been old as affordable goods in various locations around the world, the proceeds then are contributed to a charity of your choice. Anglo Doorstep Collections currently has four main charity partners that you can select to support: Action for Children, Advance, Ecologi, and Together for Short Lives. All of our partner charities are based and operate here in the UK, supporting vital causes that are close to home.

Protecting the Environment…
Donating your unwanted bags, hats, and accessories does not only help those in need and our charity partners, it is also good for the environment! Every year, the UK received over 300,000 tonnes of textile waste alone in its landfills (UK Parliament, 2019) . Many of these items are in good condition and could still be reused by someone who needs them. Furthermore, reusing household items saves thousands of tonnes in CO2, which would have been produced by factories manufacturing new products. In one year, Anglo Doorstep Collections has been able to save 98,950 tonnes of CO2, just through rehoming your unwanted household items!
