Phones, Laptops, & Computers…

Tech such as phones, laptops, and Computers are constantly being developed and upgraded. This means that we can often end up with old devices taking up space in drawers never to be used again. Sometimes it feels like these items are too valuable to throw away. At Anglo Doorstep Collections, we will rehome your unwanted and outdated devices to those who cannot afford to buy these vital tools brand new. The proceeds from your donated technology will go to a charity of your choice, helping to support some fantastic causes. To read more about our partner charities, click here.

You can also sell you old tech with refurbishing companies, or sometimes from the company they came from. This is a good way to earn a little extra cash for your unwanted technology. However, as the items will often need refurbishing, or used for parts, they may not sell for as much as you would like them to. Donating these items to raise money for charity can be more impactful and can help reduce the emissions produced when manufacturing new technological products.

The Benefits of Recycling and Reusing…

Choosing to recycle your unwanted household items has great benefits for our environment. At Anglo Doorstep Collections, we find the value in the items that you no longer use. Here are some of the ways that your donated items can have a positive impact:

Reducing Emissions

By reusing your household items, it extends their product life and contributes to something called the circular economy. The circular economy is when a products life does not end when you are done with it, but instead is put back into use by reusing or recycling its materials. This lowers the need for new products needing to be manufactured in factories, which produce many harmful emissions. In one year, your kind donations helped Anglo Doorstep Collections to save almost 100,000 tonnes of CO2 entering our atmosphere!

Saving Water

Household items that are made of cotton materials such as clothes or shoes require huge amounts of cotton farming. These cotton plants require vast amounts of water to grow, with each plant needing approximately 38 litres of water each (Farm & Animals, 2023). Clothes are often thrown away, when they can still be reused. By rehoming all the clothes that we receive at Anglo Doorstep Collections, we have been able to save approximately 37 billion litres of water in just one year!

Raising Money for Charity

We distribute your donations to various places across the world that are in need of affordable and accessible household items. Afterwards, the proceeds that are made from your donations are contributed to a charity of your choice. All of our charities are based in the UK and support causes that are close to home. So far, we have been able to raise over £400,000 for charity! Here are our main charity partners that you can select to support:
