Spare Bed Sheets & Towels in Uxbridge? Free Pickup
Uxbridge might be best known as the administrative heart of Hillingdon, but behind every one of its roughly 56,000 front doors there’s usually an airing cupboard quietly bursting at the seams. Spare sheet sets bought for guests who rarely visit, bath towels replaced after a bathroom refresh but never actually binned, tablecloths left over from a dining habit that’s long since changed — it all adds up. Anglo Doorstep Collections comes straight to your door, collects it free of charge, and makes sure anything still usable goes on to do some good rather than sitting folded away for another five years.

Part of a Circular Economy
Good bedding and towels that still have life in them stay in use locally rather than being thrown away, feeding a small but genuine circular economy across Greater London.
Funds Good Causes
What you no longer need gets passed to reuse partners, and a large percentage of proceeds goes towards charitable work.
A Lighter, Tidier Home
Clearing out a cupboard you’ve been avoiding for years brings a surprising amount of satisfaction — and frees up space for things you actually use.

What We Collect
Bedroom and bathroom textiles that have simply outlived their usefulness at home
We take flat sheets, fitted sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases in any size from single to super-king, along with bath towels, hand towels, tea towels and table linen such as tablecloths and cloth napkins. These are exactly the sort of bedroom items that build up unnoticed — a family downsizing from a larger house to something more manageable will often uncover three or four sets of bedding they’d forgotten they owned, while a family working through a wider declutter might find towels in colours that stopped matching the bathroom years ago. Items should be clean and in reasonable, usable condition; anything heavily stained or falling apart is better left out, as it’s unlikely to be something a reuse partner can pass on.
Where It Ends Up
Reuse comes first, recycling is the fallback
Bedding and towels still in decent condition are in steady demand among the reuse partners and good causes we work with across Greater London. A whole set of cotton sheets is worth far more kept intact and recirculated than it ever would be broken down for fibre, so reuse is always the first option — only genuinely worn-out textiles are directed towards recycling, which at least keeps them out of landfill.
The wider picture helps explain why this matters. UK figures suggest around 920,000 tonnes of textiles are discarded nationally every year, roughly 13 kg per person, which works out at an estimated 728 tonnes a year from Uxbridge alone. Growing and processing the cotton for a single t-shirt takes around 2,700 litres of water, and synthetic fabrics can sit in landfill for decades without breaking down. These are estimates built from published research such as WRAP’s figures, not promises, but they’re a useful reminder of the value in keeping usable linen and towels circulating rather than binning them. Reusing roughly a kilogram of textiles is estimated to avoid 3–4 kg of CO2 compared with manufacturing new, and a full bag of donated items weighing 8–10 kg can collectively save many thousands of litres of water that would otherwise go into producing replacements — a meaningful saving for something that costs you nothing to hand over.
Getting Your Donation Ready
No ironing, no folding to a standard — just clean, dry and bagged
Have a look through what you’ve pulled out and set aside anything torn, badly stained or past reasonable use — being a little selective at this stage means more of what you put out actually goes on to be reused rather than quietly filtered out later. Everything else just needs to be clean and dry; there’s no need to iron or fold neatly, since our reuse partners sort everything themselves. A loose fold so the bag closes properly, then seal it so nothing gets damp while it’s waiting outside.
Uxbridge weather being what it is — plenty of grey, damp mornings alongside the odd downpour — it’s worth bagging things the night before rather than leaving them loose, and popping them somewhere sheltered such as a porch if you have one, so a surprise shower doesn’t undo your efforts. The evening before your collection we’ll send a time slot so you know roughly when to expect the driver, and you don’t need to be home — just leave the bags out somewhere visible and we’ll take it from there. There’s no minimum quantity required, so even a single bag is genuinely worth donating.
Clear It All in One Go
One visit, several categories sorted
A linen cupboard clear-out rarely happens on its own — it’s usually part of a bigger sort-through, whether that’s a family working room by room through the house or someone downsizing ahead of a move. We’re set up for exactly that: in the same visit we can also take books, clothes, toys, household items and kitchenware, so there’s no need to book separately for each category.
Coverage doesn’t stop at the Uxbridge boundary either. We also collect from nearby Hillingdon, Cowley, Ickenham and West Drayton, and households across all of these areas find that spare sheets, towels and tablecloths in reasonable condition can genuinely benefit someone else rather than sitting unused. You can see the full area we cover on our collections near you page.
Once everything is bagged and ready, book our Greater London linen collection for a day that suits you — that really is the whole process.
Why a Doorstep Collection Suits Uxbridge Households
No high street trip, no parking hassle, no waiting in
Anyone who’s tried hauling a bulky bag of towels into town past the Chimes centre on a Saturday, hunting for parking near the high street just to drop donations off, will know it’s rarely worth the trouble. A free doorstep collection sidesteps all of that — no need to travel, no minimum amount to donate, and no requirement to be home when the driver calls, which makes it especially useful for elderly residents, disabled households, or anyone simply too stretched for time to get out.
There’s also a quieter benefit to the whole thing: bedding and towels that stay in use rather than going to landfill help reduce the kind of textile waste that otherwise contributes to overflowing bins and occasional fly-tipping around the borough. Keeping those items circulating supports a local circular economy that benefits households right across Hillingdon and the wider Greater London area, while the proceeds raised help fund good causes along the way. It’s a small effort for residents, but a genuinely worthwhile one — and we’ve tried to make it as simple as possible from booking through to collection day.
