Kids’ Toys in Birmingham? We Collect Them Free

Birmingham is home to around 1,140,000 people, and with one of the youngest population profiles of any city in Europe, children’s toys accumulate here at a remarkable rate — outgrown in months, often still in excellent shape. Rather than letting that good-condition kids’ stuff end up in a bin, donating toys in Birmingham with Anglo Doorstep Collections puts them straight back into the hands of children who’ll actually play with them. We collect from your doorstep at no charge whatsoever, so there’s no car journey, no queuing at a charity shop, and no hassle.
What We Collect
Children’s toys come in all shapes and sizes, and we’re happy to take a wide range of good-condition kids’ stuff. Soft toys, dolls, action figures, wooden stacking toys, train sets, construction bricks, and similar children’s playthings are all welcome — the sort of things toddlers and older children alike enjoy but inevitably grow out of long before the toys themselves give up. Everything in usable condition goes directly to our charity and reuse partners, where other Birmingham families can benefit from it.
How It Works — Three Simple Steps
Book online
Pick a date using our booking form — it takes less than two minutes and there’s nothing to pay. The evening before your collection day, we’ll send you your time slot so you know roughly when to expect us.
Leave your bag on the doorstep
You don’t have to be at home — just leave the bag somewhere our driver can reach it. Bag smaller pieces together so sets stay intact on the journey, and keep anything broken or unusable out of the donation.
Toys reach children who need them
Every usable item passes to our charity and reuse partners, where it’s made available to other families across Birmingham and beyond. A large percentage of proceeds goes to charity, so your donation does more than one kind of good.

Across Every Corner of Birmingham
A city the size of Birmingham — stretching from Harborne and Selly Oak in the south to Perry Barr and Erdington in the north, and from Handsworth in the west to Sparkhill and Moseley in the east — simply isn’t practical to navigate just to drop off a bag of children’s toys. A free kerbside collection removes that obstacle entirely. Whether you’re in the city centre or further out towards Sutton Coldfield, our drivers come to you. We also cover nearby Solihull and West Bromwich, so you can point friends or family in those directions too.
City-wide Coverage
From Kings Heath and Edgbaston to Aston, Erdington, Sutton Coldfield and Sparkhill — wherever you are in Birmingham, we’ll come to your door.
No Minimum or Maximum
One carrier bag or several — it makes no difference. There’s no charge either way, and no minimum quantity to hit before we’ll collect. Every donation counts.
Better Than Landfill
UK estimates suggest around a million tonnes of reusable household goods — children’s toys included — are discarded every year. Keeping them in use means saving the raw materials, water and energy that manufacturing replacements would consume.
What Donating Toys Means for Birmingham’s Environment
Birmingham City Council manages waste for a population of around 1,140,000 people, and bulky or mixed plastic-and-fabric items like children’s toys create a real pressure on local landfill capacity. When a toy is donated and reused rather than thrown away, it sidesteps that system entirely. Based on published UK estimates — including figures from WRAP — reusing toys and similar household goods saves the raw materials, energy and water that would otherwise go into producing brand-new replacements. Across a city this size, even modest increases in reuse rates add up to a meaningful reduction in what ends up in West Midlands landfill sites. Choosing a free doorstep collection over a bin bag is, in practical terms, one of the easiest environmental choices a Birmingham household can make.

It’s Not Just Families
Parents clearing out a bedroom ahead of a new arrival are the obvious donors, but they’re far from the only ones. Grandparents in Sutton Coldfield or West Bromwich who kept a stash of children’s toys for weekend visits often find themselves with more than they realistically need. Childminders refreshing their supplies, and nurseries upgrading what they offer, regularly have good-quality kids’ stuff that simply needs a new home. Clean, undamaged soft toys find takers quickly; wooden toys and construction sets almost always do too. If it’s been sitting in a cupboard waiting for you to do something useful with it, this is the moment.
“In a city as large and busy as Birmingham, the appeal of a free doorstep collection is straightforward — you spend two minutes booking online and the rest takes care of itself, while the toys go somewhere they’re genuinely needed.”
Add More to the Same Trip
Toys rarely travel alone when it’s clear-out time. You’re welcome to add other items to the same visit — take a look at our pages for clothes, books and household items to see what else we can collect in one go. We also cover nearby Solihull, and every area we serve is listed on our collections near you page.
For a broader picture of the region, our West Midlands toy collection page has everything you need on the wider area we cover.
