Going the Extra Mile: Running for Action for Children

More Than Just a Fundraising Challenge
At Anglo Doorstep Collections, supporting charities has always been at the heart of what we do. Every day, we work with incredible organisations across the UK, helping them raise vital funds through our doorstep collection service. But for us, making a difference isn’t just about the work we do – it’s about getting involved personally and showing our commitment to the causes we support.
That’s why I recently took on the challenge of running The London 10K in support of Action for Children on behalf of Anglo Doorstep Collections.
Crossing the finish line was an incredible feeling, but the real achievement wasn’t the time on the clock. It was knowing that every step was helping to raise awareness and support for a charity that works tirelessly to improve the lives of vulnerable children, young people and families across the UK.
Supporting Our Charity Partners Beyond Collections
At Anglo, we’re fortunate to work alongside charities that make a genuine difference in people’s lives. Through our doorstep collections, we see first-hand the generosity of communities who donate clothing, shoes and other reusable items to support important causes. Every collection represents someone choosing to give back, and every donation helps charities continue delivering essential services where they’re needed most.
Running The London 10K felt like a natural extension of that mission. As a company, we don’t want to simply provide a fundraising service. We want to actively support our charity partners, celebrate the work they do and play our part in helping them reach even more people. Whether that’s through fundraising challenges, awareness campaigns or volunteering, we believe businesses have an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution beyond their day-to-day operations.
Every Mile Had a Purpose
Training for The London 10K event wasn’t always easy. Like many people balancing work and everyday life, finding the time and motivation wasn’t without its challenges. But keeping the purpose behind the run in mind made every early morning and every training session worthwhile. Knowing that the effort was helping support such an important cause made reaching the finish line even more rewarding.
Our partnership with Action for Children is one we’re incredibly proud of. Their work changes lives every single day, providing practical and emotional support to children, young people and families facing difficult circumstances. The impact they make across communities is inspiring, and we’re honoured to play a small part in supporting their mission.

This run also reflects something bigger about who we are as a business. Anglo Doorstep Collections exists to make fundraising easier for charities through our nationwide doorstep collection service, helping turn unwanted clothing and household textiles into valuable funds. Every collection arranged with our charity partners helps generate income that supports life-changing projects across the country.
