Outgrown Toys in Coventry Homes? Book a Free Pickup

With around 345,000 people calling Coventry home, and a good few of those households including young children, it’s little wonder the toy box fills up faster than anyone can keep track of. Outgrown teddies, train sets that have lost their novelty, building bricks nobody builds with anymore — rather than bagging it all up for the tip, Anglo Doorstep Collections will take it straight from your doorstep and put it back into circulation for a family who’ll genuinely get use from it. No charge, no drop-off, no fuss.

Pop a date in the booking form
It takes a couple of minutes and there’s no payment involved at any stage. The evening before your collection day, we’ll message you with your time slot, so you’re not left guessing when to put the bag out.
Pack it loosely by set
Keep jigsaw-free, complete sets of building bricks or train track together in one bag so nothing gets separated on the way. Wipe down anything that’s lived in the garden, and take the batteries out of anything electronic before it goes out.
Leave it on the doorstep and carry on with your day
You don’t need to wait in or rearrange your morning around us. Our driver collects directly from your doorstep within the slot we’ve given you, whether you’re in for it or not.
Your toys go on to a new home
Soft toys, action figures, wooden stacking toys, dolls and construction bricks all get passed to our charity and reuse partners, where they’re made available to other families locally. A large percentage of proceeds goes to charity, so the benefit runs further than just the toys themselves.
What We’re Happy to Take
Good-condition children’s toys and kids’ stuff of pretty much every kind are welcome — soft toys and cuddly animals, dolls and action figures, wooden stacking toys, train sets and track, and construction bricks that have been tipped out of their box more times than anyone can count. We do come across some unusual finds too: vintage tin toys passed down a generation, half-complete brick sets that someone’s determined to pass on anyway, or a box of character figures from a cartoon that stopped airing years ago. As long as it’s a genuine toy and in reasonable, usable condition, it has a good chance of finding a new home.
Serving Coventry and the Towns Around It
From the terraces near Earlsdon to the newer estates on the city’s edges, our drivers cover Coventry door to door, so there’s no need to find a car parking space near a charity shop or load the boot for a trip to the tip. We also collect from Kenilworth, Bedworth and Nuneaton, so if you’ve got relatives or friends out that way with a toy box needing a clear-out, they’re covered too. One bag or ten, there’s no minimum and no maximum — every bit you set aside is one less thing heading for a bin.
The Environmental Case for Donating Rather Than Binning
UK-wide estimates suggest around a million tonnes of reusable household goods are thrown away every year, and toys make up a steady share of that figure. Every one that’s donated instead of discarded is kept out of the waste stream and out of landfill — which matters in a city the size of Coventry, where the volume from thousands of households adds up quickly. Reusing toys, kitchenware and bric-a-brac saves the raw materials, water and energy that would otherwise go into manufacturing replacements from scratch, according to published UK figures such as those from WRAP. No single bag of toys changes those numbers on its own, but across a city of this size, individual donations genuinely do accumulate into a worthwhile reduction in what the area sends to landfill.
Why a Doorstep Collection Makes Sense
Paying for a council bulky-waste collection costs money and still leaves you waiting in for a van; a trip to a charity shop means finding somewhere to park, carrying bags in, and hoping they’ve got room for what you’ve brought. A free doorstep collection cuts out both problems at once — nothing to pay, nothing to carry further than your own front step. It also tends to suit the kind of clear-out that creeps up gradually: a kitchen cupboard clear-out that turns up a biscuit tin of old toys, a loft tidy before downsizing to a smaller house, or simply a weekend spent finally sorting through what’s accumulated since the kids were small. Keeping that clutter moving on, rather than letting it sit in bags in the garage, also plays a small part in keeping streets tidier and discouraging the kind of fly-tipping that spoils otherwise decent neighbourhoods.

Not Just for Parents
Mums and dads clearing a bedroom before a new arrival are the obvious example, but plenty of other households end up with a surplus. Grandparents in Kenilworth who’ve kept a box of toys for weekend visits often find they’ve got more than they need once grandchildren grow older. Childminders refreshing their equipment and nurseries updating what’s on offer regularly have good, clean kids’ stuff that just needs somewhere better to go than a cupboard. If something’s been sitting untouched for a year, there’s a fair chance a child somewhere nearby would get real use from it.
“Booking takes two minutes online, and from there it’s entirely out of your hands — the toys go on to families who’ll actually play with them, and your doorstep’s a little clearer for it.”
While You’re Having a Clear-Out
Toy clear-outs rarely happen in isolation — if you’re sorting the playroom, there’s usually a wardrobe or bookshelf not far behind. Take a look at our pages for clothes, books and household items to see what else can go in the same collection. We also cover nearby Bedworth, Kenilworth, Nuneaton and Earlsdon, and every place we collect from across the wider area is listed on our collections near you page.
