Free Doorstep Pickup for Pots and Pans Across Hereford

Hereford may be a small cathedral city of around 61,000 people, but its kitchen cupboards fill up just as fast as anywhere larger. A house move, a kitchen refit, or simply the slow accumulation of pans you never reach for all end in the same place — a cupboard you can’t quite close. Anglo Doorstep Collections comes straight to your door across Hereford and takes that kitchenware away at no cost at all, so it finds a new home instead of going in the bin.
Frying pans gathering dust, a saucepan set inherited from a previous kitchen, baking trays wedged behind everything else, a colander that hasn’t seen a sink in months — if it’s clean, intact and still fit to cook with, it’s exactly what we collect. Someone nearby will happily put it back into use.

- Pots, pans, saucepans, baking trays, colanders and casserole dishes all welcome, in sound usable condition

We’re happy to collect pots, pans, frying pans, saucepans, baking trays, colanders and casserole dishes, whether it’s a single item or several boxes at once. Everything just needs to be clean and in sound, usable condition — no cracked bases, broken handles or damaged coatings. We can’t take microwaves, food products or any large white goods or appliances, so please keep those separate.
Our Hereford collections cover the city and reach out into Belmont, Tupsley, Hinton and Holmer, so households just outside the centre are included too. If you’re not quite sure whether your street falls within our round, book online and we’ll confirm the details with you directly.
Not at all. Simply leave your boxes out on the doorstep, in the porch, or in whatever spot you agree with us when booking, and our driver will collect them without needing you to answer the door. It’s worth double-checking boxes are stacked securely and labelled if you’ve left them somewhere a neighbour might not expect.
Used is completely fine — in fact, most of what we collect has had a previous life in someone’s kitchen already. The only requirement is that it’s clean, complete and still functional. A well-used but sturdy saucepan is just as valuable to the next household as something fresh from a shop.
Donated pots, pans and other items are passed to the charities and reuse partners we work with, where they’re either sold on to raise funds or go directly to someone setting up a kitchen on a limited budget — a young person’s first flat, a family starting over, or a household simply replacing what’s worn out. A large percentage of proceeds from sold items goes to charity, so each donation supports good causes as well as finding a practical new home.
Yes — children’s play kitchens sometimes come with real pots, pans or small utensils that have been handed down, and if those pieces are genuine kitchenware in sound condition, they can go in with the rest of your donation. It’s a handy way to free up space when tidying a bedroom alongside your main kitchen clear-out.
Yes — many Hereford bookings include more than kitchenware. If your clear-out has also turned up clothes, books, toys or other household items, these can all go into one single booking, collected together by the same driver on the same visit.
No minimum at all. A single frying pan is collected just as readily as several boxes from a full house clearance or a loft and garage clear-out combined. The booking process is the same either way, and there’s nothing to pay regardless of quantity.
Hereford’s pace of life brings a steady stream of moves, downsizes and spring clean-outs, and kitchenware tends to be one of the first casualties — cupboards get reorganised, a loft or garage finally gets tackled, and pans that still have plenty of use left in them end up boxed by the door with nowhere obvious to go. Choosing to donate rather than bin them keeps perfectly usable items out of landfill, where discarded household goods can sit for years, contributing to pollution and methane emissions as they break down. Nationally, an estimated one million tonnes of reusable household goods are thrown away every year; reusing kitchenware instead saves the raw materials, water and energy that go into manufacturing new replacements, and in Herefordshire it also means one less box ending up as bulky waste or, worse, dumped illegally. A tidier city with less fly-tipping benefits everyone, and every doorstep collection plays a small part in that.
There’s a community dimension too. The kitchenware collected here doesn’t travel far before it’s put back to use — supporting local charities, reuse schemes and the households around Hereford who benefit directly from what others no longer need. It suits almost any situation: a house move, a long-overdue spring clean, downsizing into a smaller home, or finally clearing a loft, garage or wardrobe that’s been quietly filling up for years. And if your clear-out stretches beyond the kitchen, Hereford households can also arrange collection of clothes, books, toys and other household items in the very same booking.
