Student Clear-Out Collections at the University of Northampton!
Collections are free, and they are rehomed to people and families who are in need or affordable and accessible household items.
Scheduling a collection is easy—just choose the charity you’d like to support, pack your items into bags or boxes, and leave them outside your door. You don’t need to be home, but if you are, our driver will give you a friendly knock.
After this, we will rehome your items and donate the proceeds to a charity of your choice!
What Items Do We Collect, And Where Will They Be Rehomed?
We’re able to collect a wide variety of household items! Every donation is put to good use, reaching those who need them most. Below are some of the most common items we collect from students preparing to move out.

Book NowClothes, Shoes & Accessories
By donating your surplus unwanted clothes, shoes, and accessories to charity. You’re not only refreshing your wardrobe but also helping individuals and families in need. Your clothing donations will provide warmth, comfort, and dignity to those facing difficult circumstances.
The winter items you donate to us will go to colder countries such as Ukraine, which are in desperate need to provide families with warm clothing.
Summer items are distributed to various countries across Africa, particularly those with significant populations living below the poverty line who are unable to afford new garments.
Kitchenware, Cutlery & Crockery
Moving out and wondering what to do with all that extra kitchen stuff? Instead of tossing it, why not donate it? Students often end up with a mountain of kitchenware—spare pots, pans, plates, and utensils—that just aren’t needed after uni. By donating, you’ll be helping someone else set up their home while cutting down on waste. It’s a simple way to do something good before you go.
We can collect all sorts of kitchenware, including cutlery, glasses, utensils, pots, pans, bowls, and plates.
Your kitchenware is sent over to multiple locations in the Middle East, including countries like Iraq and Syria. There, your items can be reused by people who can’t afford to buy kitchen essentials brand new.
Small Electricals & Appliances
Shared a kettle, toaster, or air fryer with your housemates? Now that uni’s over, you might not need it anymore—but someone else could! Rather than binning it, donate your small electrical items and give them a second life. It’s a great way to clear out clutter, reduce waste, and help others kit out their kitchen without the cost.
We can collect a wide range of small electricals, including: Kettles, toasters, air-fryers, rice cookers, extension cords, speakers, microwaves, etc.
The small electricals we receive are sent to locations in the Middle East, such as Iraq and Syria, to help make these electrical items more accessible to people. We also recognise that even in the UK, many families struggle to afford electrical essentials, so many of our electrical donations are distributed here in the UK.
Bed Sheets, Linens & Towels
Got spare bedsheets and towels you don’t need anymore? Instead of stuffing them in a bag or leaving them behind, donate them! These essentials are always in demand and can make a big difference to someone starting fresh. It’s an easy way to pass them on, keep them out of landfill, and do something good as you move on from uni life.
We can collect all clean bed sheets and towels. This includes duvet covers, pillowcases, fitted/flat sheets, bath towels, and hand towels.
Our bedsheets and towels go to the Battersea Dogs & Cats Home to be used as cosy pet bedding!
Toiletries (Over 50% Full)
Got leftover toiletries you won’t be taking with you? We accept unopened items and partially used ones—as long as they’re more than 50% full. Things like shampoo, shower gel, deodorant, and toothpaste can still go a long way in helping someone out. It’s a great way to cut down on waste and do something good as you clear out.

We’ll collect. We will send you a reminder email the evening before and all you need to do is place your donations outside and we’ll do the rest. You don’t even need to be at home.
We will donate! We sort the donations and re home all around the world to countries who need and desire the items most. After costs, we can donate 60% of the proceeds to our partnered charities.
