How to Donate Surplus Stock with Anglo Doorstep Collections?

Donating your surplus stock has never been easier! Anglo Doorstep Collections will come directly to your property to collect from you – completely free of charge! Here are the steps to take to arrange a collection of your surplus stock:

Step 1 – Contact Us About Your Collection

Especially if you have a large amount of surplus stock for donation, please contact us about what items you are donating and the amount you will have. This helps us to determine if we are able to rehome the stock, and if we need to come with an empty van on the day! A member of our team will likely get back to you on the same working day to confirm we are happy to collect the stock.

You can contact us at info@anglodoorstepcollections.co.uk.

Step 2 – Schedule a Collection Date

Once we have confirmed we are happy to collect the stock, you can schedule a collection date! We collect all across England and South Wales on a regular basis, with some areas receiving daily available collections. All you need to do is enter your details and address in our booking form and select an available collection date.

Step 3 – Check Your Surplus Stock Donations are Packed Suitably

It is important that all the surplus stock you have for donation is packed ready for us to take on the day of the collection. We can take donations packed in any suitable box or bag. Some donations, such us surplus textile stock is best packed into bags (such as bin liners) as they take up less room in our vans when we load them. Other donation that are heavy or fragile, such as electricals, are best packed into boxes so they can be safely stacked and protected during transit. We are not able to collect any stock that is not packed into either a bag or box. Any stock that is too large to fit into a box or bag will not be eligible for collection.

You can read our guide to packing and preparing donations Here.

Step 4 – Have Your Donations Ready for Us to Take

Once everything is booked and packed, you need to make sure it will be ready for our driver when they arrive on the day. We will send you a two hour timeslot and live tracking link the evening before the collection so you know exactly when they will arrive. If you will require us to arrive at a specific time at your property, please contact us at info@anglodoorstepcollections.co.uk beforehand so we can arrange this for you. Make sure your donations will be in an accessible location for our driver to collect in from. Donations should be left outside ready, or kept inside on a ground floor. You can add any instructions to the ‘Notes’ section when booking a collection for our driver.

Step 5 – We Sort, Distribute & Rehome Your Surplus Stock

After we have collected your donations, you can sit back and relax while we take care of it from here! Your donations will be brought back to our warehouse for sorting and you items are redistributed to various locations across the world! We send donations to different countries, depending on where they are needed the most. They are sold as affordable second-hand goods, helping to make household essentials accessible to everyone. After they are sold on & rehomed, we share our proceeds with our partner charities.

Why Donate Your Surplus Stock?

Donating your surplus stock is an excellent way to ethically remove and clear out your unwanted items and free up space effortlessly. It is in the best interest for business’s and consumers alike. Here are the main reasons you should choose to donate your unwanted surplus stock…

It is Free and Convenient!

Our donation collections are 100% free! Many alternatives to removing unwanted stock often involve hefty collection and recycling fees. Our service not only saves with cost but it can save time too! Our friendly drivers will come straight to your property to take away your unwanted items on a day that suits you. We have regular collections across the country, with daily available collection dates in many areas of South East England.

You can track our driver in live time on the collection day to know exactly when they will arrive at your property. We are also able to collect items left outside the property if no one is able to be there during the collection, to make sure the process is as effortless as possible!

It is Good for the Environment!

When you donate your unwanted stock, you’re helping us prevent thousands of tonnes of waste from ending up in landfill. Instead of being discarded, your items are given a second life; rehomed and reused by others. Choosing to rehome rather than recycle also saves the vast amounts of energy and resources needed to break items down and remanufacture them.

In just one year, rehoming unwanted clothing and textiles allowed us to save over 3.7 billion litres of water. That’s because reusing clothes reduces the demand for new production, which requires enormous amounts of water – especially for cotton growing.

It Helps to Raise Money for Charity!

After we have redistributed and rehomed your donations, we share our proceeds with our amazing partner charities. We want to make sure that your donations have the biggest impact possible and help to support local and meaningful causes.
