How Our Council Partnerships Work

As local authorities across the UK strive to meet ever increasing recycling and waste reduction targets, partnerships with innovative organisations like ours offer significant potential. Anglo Doorstep Collections, a part of the Anglo Recycling Company, provides a seamless and effective service that collects unwanted clothing and household items directly from residents’ doorsteps. Our Council Partnerships

Adur & Worthing Councils

Adur & Worthing Councils is based in the West Sussex area. We have partnered with them to offer their residents a doorstep collection service for their unwanted clothes, shoes, bric a brac and more.

Cherwell District Council

Cherwell District Council is based in the North Oxfordshire area. We have partnered with them to offer their residents a doorstep collection service for their unwanted clothes, shoes, bric a brac and more.

Eastleigh Borough Council

Eastleigh Borough Council in Hampshire offer their residents a doorstep collection service for their unwanted clothes and household items via our service.

Elmbridge Borough Council

We work with Elmbridge Borough Council in Surrey as an additional recycling offering for their residents. We offer a doorstep collection service for their unwanted clothes, household items and more.

Exeter City Council

Exeter City Council in Devon offer their residents our doorstep collection service to collect donations directly from homes.

Lewes District and Eastbourne Borough Council

Lewes and Eastbourne Councils in East Sussex offer the local households our doorstep collection service for the the items they want to clear out and donate.

Maidstone District Council

Maidstone Borough Council based in the ME Postcode Area in Kent offer their residents our free doorstep collection service for their unwanted clothes, shoes, bric a brac, books and toys.

Sevenoaks District Council

Sevenoaks District Council in Kent provides a doorstep collection service for the households in the TN Postcode Area. To donate their unwanted clothes, household items and more.

Southampton City Council

Southampton City Council in Hampshire provides a doorstep collection service for the households in the SO Postcode Area. To donate their unwanted clothes, household items and more.

Surrey Environment Partnership

Surrey Environment Partnership as an additional recycling offering for their residents. SEP aims to manage Surrey’s waste in the most efficient, effective, economical and sustainable manner. We are providing a doorstep collection service for their residents clothes, household items and other things they want to donate.

Wyre Forest Council

Wyre Forest District Council located in Worcestershire County. We offer the DY Postcode residents a doorstep collection service for their unwanted clothes, shoes, textiles, bric a brac, books and toys.

We partnered with Anglo because our residents were complaining about rogue cold calling visit trying to collect clothes. This generated complaints and uncertainty in our communities, however working with Anglo has proved to alley those fears. We now only receive positive comments from residents who like the professional booking service and all of the good causes that Anglo support. I would recommend Anglo as a local authority partner without hesitation, as it has been an amazing success for our residents.

How Donations Help to Reduce Waste.

The average item of clothing is only worn 10 times before being discarded. In the UK alone, 360,000 tonnes of clothes are thrown away each year.

Anglo Doorstep Collections is currently making around 3,400 collections every week. By rehousing the donations we collect, this saves around 98,950 tonnes of CO2 each year, which is enough energy to supply 38,057 home for a year.

This also saves 37 Billion litres of water, which is enough to supply 685,000 homes in the UK for a year.
